Sea Kayaking

Kayaks – meaning “man’s boat” in the Inuit dialect and were first used to hunt on the open waters of the Arctic Ocean. They were originally all built individually by the man who would use them, who measured the frame based on the measurement of his forearm, thus no two kayaks were exactly the same in dimension. Nowadays they are made of man-made compounds as well as wood and come in one and two person models. They are typically propelled with a double-ended paddle.

Sea kayaking is a potentially hazardous pursuit, partly because of the nature of the oceanic environment and the remote location.
