Hydro Speeding

Hydrospeeding is a little known water sport that involves making descents actually in rivers down gorges and canyons. Participants are aided by a specially designed floating board called a "hydrospeed", wear thick neoprene clothing and use flippers to make our way down the river led by an experienced guide.

It is a sort of solo white-water body rafting, and has been described as driving the front end of a toboggan down the rapids.

It is closely related to Canyoning, which involves following the flow of water through the canyon: when you come to a drop you may have to jump, rappel or slide down it.
