Elephant Trekking can take the form of a short one-hour excursion from your hotel on the back of a well-trained elephant to an entire holiday devoted to travelling long –distant with elephants, either walking alongside or riding upon their backs. Particularly popular in Asian countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, and India. Try to make sure your trip is neither exploitative of the elephants nor their handlers; nowadays many elephant trekking holidays are an integral part of ecotourism and are being developed as a sustainable form of tourism.
