Walking trips 'with or without the kids' this half term

Families looking to get away from it all - with or without their children - may be attracted to a number of walking trips on offer in Europe this half term.Upland Escapes offers those looking to keep their children both entertained and exercised a trip to the Mercantour park in France or Majella in Italy, which includes a daily packed lunch in addition to suggested walks and activities.
Parents who have managed to leave the children with helpful relatives may prefer to journey with the firm to the town of Kobarid in Slovenia's Julian Alps, with the seven night trip beginning on the 26th May.
"Spend a week alternating escorted walks with self-guided walks, with a choice each day to allow you to walk as much or as little as you wish," the company reports.
After joining the European Union in 2004 with nine other countries, Slovenia adopted the euro as its currency at the start of 2007.
