Young holidaymakers are being advised to make sure they stay safe in the sun, as manufacturers of a UV colour changing wristband joins forces with the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT).SolarSafe has joined up with the TCT to warn those spending time in the sun that malignant melanoma is the third most common cancer for 15-39 year olds.
The company's UV Monitor Wristband changes colour to alert the wearer and remind them to stay out of the sun and to reapply their sun cream or sunblock.
Trish McOwan, director at the firm, said: "We are passionate about sun safety, particularly in educating children and teenagers and this is a perfect match for us."
She added that SolarSafe was anticipating a number of promotional campaigns and attendance at high-profile outdoor events in the summer.
Last summer, holiday insurance provider Halifax reported that travellers from Briton are the most likely to get sunburnt while abroad.
