A low-cost online airline has given holidaymakers looking to take a shopping tip a number of hints to help them make the most of their time away.Cheapflights.co.uk advises travellers to do their research before heading abroad, noting that the strength of the pound against the dollar can help make the US a top destination to make the most of a holiday budget.
Travellers are also told to make sure they are aware of the quite strict timings of international sales, to take advantage of cheaper seasonal prices.
Holidaymakers are reminded to make use of the old staple for trips outside the EU - duty free - while all shoppers are warned to make sure they know the customs regulations on imports before they get stung at passport control.
David Soskin, a spokesman for the company, said: "Whether you're saving on flights or footwear I urge anyone planning a trip abroad to make use of our comprehensive shopping tips and custom guides."
He added that travel experts at the firm are dedicated to keeping travellers up to speed on all the information they need to find a bargain abroad.
In April 2007, the Post Office advised holiday shoppers to compare prices across the continent, reporting a significant difference between countries as close as Spain and Portugal.
