Kids and adults of all ages using time off at Halloween to purchase holiday insurance and travel may take some inspiration from a recently published list of top Halloween destinations.The list, by travel firm Travelocity, includes haunted villages and wedding chapels in Las Vegas, a Jack-o-Lantern Festival in New Hampshire and a trip to Highgate Cemetery in London, both the final resting place of Karl Marx and alleged haunt of the infamous Highgate vampire.
Many of the destinations listed feature special packages and events throughout the latter part of October, which could be attractive for those taking advantage of their single trip or annual holiday insurance.
Jen Catto, senior editor at Travelocity, said: "Halloween is a time for the kid in all of us to come out and play.
"Travelling to your favourite costume party, parade, or pumpkin patch just adds to the fun".
Travel website Priceline.com also published its top Halloween destinations this week, with Salem, the home of the notorious witch trials, topping the list.
