With the summer holiday season fast approaching, Tesco Personal Finance has announced plans to extend its trial of cashpoints offering consumers euros.Formerly involving four ATMs, another 16 of the machines have been installed across the UK at locations ranging from Altrincham to Glasgow.
The company reports that the first feedback received from customers has been positive, with many finding the use of the no-charge machines more convenient than other ways of purchasing foreign currency.
Stewart Gow, head of ATMs at the firm, said: "We want to make travel money accessible for our customers."
He added that the machines offer a "competitive exchange rate", while providing a convenient and simple way for travellers to purchase their holiday money while shopping.
In May 2007, holiday insurance provider the Post Office advised consumers to change their foreign currency prior to travel and only take abroad the amount they are willing to spend.
