Holidaymakers with something of a green conscience will be delighted to know that a resort in Slovakia can help you holiday in an environmentally-friendly way.The AquaCity Resort in Poprad, has what is claimed to be the world's first solar powered, emission free, geothermal swimming pool complex, something that could be tempting for someone looking to use their travel insurance for a break with a difference.
"As parents relax in the massage pools watching their kids playing on the slides, tunnels and chutes, electricity is being generated through photo-cells in the triple-glazed façade," said owner and entrepreneur Jan Telensky.
Mr Telensky added that the resort serves as a reminder that not only are tourists who holiday in a green frame of mind saving the planet for themselves, they are "saving it for our kids" too.
Poprad is situated in eastern Slovakia and is the tenth largest town in the country, according to the official website of Poprad.
