Walking holiday provider Ramblers Holidays has announced that it has joined the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO).The speciality travel company offers a range of walking and trekking breaks, in addition to skiing holidays, to 150 destinations in 60 countries worldwide.
Ramblers Holidays reports that it has added a number of new destinations to its brochure for the forthcoming year, including Albania, Denmark, Japan and Kenya.
Tony Lock, general manager of the firm, said: "We are really pleased to have become members of AITO and believe that it is a reflection of our specialist product and the excellent service that we provide."
He added that the company had over 60 years of experience and was looking forward to becoming part of the AITO brand.
Last year, research from holiday insurance provider AA Financial Services revealed that 40 per cent of Britons plan to walk or mountain trek in their retirement
