New travel products blog launched
13 October 2006  Britons heading abroad with their holiday insurance may been interested in the launch of Travel Gear Blog, a review site for forthcoming and existing travel products.

The site has been created by online travel story publisher BootsnAll Travel Network (BTN), and intends to operate as a combined weblog and guidebook for travellers.

Sean Keener, president of the company, noted that traditional guide books can be of a high quality, but that their recommendations can become out of date within months as attractions and accommodation changes at destinations.

"Using technology and our local aspects, we have created a guide book that never becomes outdated and keeps evolving."

Mr Keener, noted that travel brochures can sometimes be misleading and claimed that the company's advisers will "share the truth" on destinations, which could potentially reduce disappointment abroad and the possible need for single trip or annual holiday insurance claims.

Earlier this year Lonely Planet announced the release of the Passport to? series for the PlayStation Portable, which may be of use to travellers requiring portable travel information who have limited space.
