Enjoy England has launched a new campaign to boost the numbers of domestic holidaymakers, who would still need holiday insurance to be protected for their UK trip, next year.A major part of the £1.2 million campaign will be a number of advertisements on television next year featuring the song "English Rose" by The Jam.
Also included in the campaign to increase homebound trips is a poster campaign and promotional bags.
Mike Bedingfield, director of England marketing, said: "Our research shows that Britons take 111 million trips in this country - well ahead of the 66.5 million they take abroad.
"We hope the campaign will impress them with the huge variety of holiday experiences they can enjoy in England at any time of the year."
Travellers can purchase single trip travel insurance to be covered for their domestic break, or use time from an annual holiday insurance allowance, though insurers will typically ask that accommodation is pre-booked for a number of days if this is the case.
