Britons purchasing holiday insurance and choosing their travel destinations have been advised to head to the island of Iceland this summer.Icelandair has announced a number of connected flights from Keflavik to Akureyri from June 15th to August 31st 2007 that will be timed with journeys to and from the UK, Easier reports.
Stephen Brown, general manager of Icelandair UK & Ireland, said: "Northern Iceland is a magical place, whether seen under the midnight sun or the Northern Lights.
"The wildlife-rich rugged landscape of mountains, fjords and glacial lakes is an inspiring backdrop for an adventure close to the Arctic Circle."
He added that Akyreyi the second city of Iceland, has a number of local festivals in the summer and is a good place for visitors looking to explore the area.
Icelandair recently announced that it had purchased new seats and inflight entertainment systems for its fleet, with the Thales IFE i4500 system giving all passengers access to a range of entertainment.
