The Caribbean island of Grenada is reeling from the effects of Hurricane Emily. The island suffered severe flooding, and roofs were ripped off buildings, as the hurricane passed over the island.
Last year, Grenada was left devastated by Hurricane Ivan that destroyed an incredible 90 per cent of all homes and caused 40 fatalities.
Locals seem better prepared this time, as 2,500 people moved into shelters, and others relied upon special supplies of food and drink at home.
The hurricane has continued to move west, and is heading towards Jamaica and the Gulf of Mexico.
Warnings have been issued in Jamaica, and tropical storm warnings have also been issued in the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Venezuela.
Grenada, along with much of the Caribbean, is an attractive tourist destination, but those visiting the region will want to ensure they have holiday insurance as the extreme weather season gains momentum.
