Skiers off the slopes looking for warmth and relaxation are increasingly likely to be staying in a chalet with a hot tub, it has been claimed, with whirlpool baths becoming a regular fixture of medium-priced chalets.Ski sales consultancy Alpine Answers reports that UK holidaymakers booking their holidays for 2007 should organise their trip well in advance if they are planning on booking at a peak time.
However, for those prepared to travel off-peak, it advised that chalet prices often drop significantly within a few weeks of a trip if unsold.
Jessica Sales, ski sales consultant, said: "Chalets with hot tubs are particularly popular at the moment, especially as many mid-range operators are offering chalets with hot tubs."
She added that as a result, it was becoming increasingly affordable for holidaymakers to find a chalet with a hot tub.
Last year, foreign exchange specialist HiFX reported that trade in French ski properties was increasing as a result of its closeness to the UK and the number of cheap flights across the channel.
