With the weather recently taking a sunny turn, Britons may be tempted to pick up their holiday insurance and head to the coast for a short break - and involve the kids in the time-honoured art of sandcastle building.
As well as the main event of sandcastle construction, the day - sponsored by Haven and British Holidays - will include a range of entertainment and family activities.
"Holidaymakers can look forward to comfortable well appointed holiday home accommodation, sports facilities, crazy golf and play areas, heated indoor pools and a full programme of kid's clubs, games, contests, sports and organised activities," the company reports.
It adds that the evenings bring stage-shows, live music and dancing, the person building the top-ranked sandcastle can win a family Haven and British Holiday for free.
Recently, the world's tallest sandcastle was built in Myrtle Beach, California, with Team Sandtastic constructing the 49.55 foot structure record-breaking structure.
