A young British girl is fighting for her life after collapsing on a ride at Disney World, Florida. Leanne Deacon, 16, from Leicestershire, went on the Tower of Terror but complained of dizziness and a headache shortly after coming off the ride.
Paramedics rushed her to the Celebration Hospital, and en route she lost consciousness, before suffering a heart attack and then being resuscitated.
Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Jim Solomons commented: "They initially considered flying her to a specialist facility but there happened to be a neurosurgeon in the hospital at the time."
Leanne underwent surgery last night, and remains in a critical condition.
The alarming nature of such an incident serves to emphasise the importance of holiday insurance for those jetting off overseas.
