Butlins have announced that they are to build a range of contemporary timeshare apartments in the holiday resort of Minehead, in Somerset.The project, named BlueSkies, will see 24 luxury one and two-bed apartments built near the company's Minehead holiday camp, with plans for further timeshare sites in Skegness and Bognor Regis.
In an effort to move with the times, while still offering a traditional British holiday, the timeshares will be aimed at families, many of whom will be covered by annual holiday insurance, who already enjoy the Butlins environment.
Development chief of the Butlins timeshare project, Mike Crowther, said: "We're aiming to create a development that is luxurious, flexible, great value and guarantees a first-rate family holiday.
"It is holiday heaven for the growing number of people who enjoy the fun and convenience of a UK family break."
The apartments will cost from £6,000, going up to £11,000 for those who want to secure a two-bed pad for a week in August, for the next 30 years.
Every year 1.3 million holidaymakers visit one of the three Butlins holiday camps in Britain.
