Those planning to purchase their holiday insurance and book a trip abroad in the new year may be interested in a "New Year seat sale" launched this week by a budget airline.Exeter-based company Flybe is offering reduced fares on six million seats on its planes, promoting the special offer as an opportunity to plan ahead for the summer or to take a post-Christmas break, Easier reports.
Destinations available on the special offer include both beach and city breaks to Croatia, France, Germany and Portugal, with the offer open until January 14th 2007.
Mike Rutter, chief commercial officer at Flybe, said: "We've launched a series of exciting new routes from our regional bases across the UK throughout 2006 in addition to seeing a significant increase in the number of passengers travelling from our bases."
He added that the company was looking forward to another successful 12 months.
Last month, holiday insurance provider swiftcover.com advised those planning a number of trips abroad in 2007 to purchase annual cover.
It noted that multi-trip holiday insurance can be more cost-efficient than purchasing separate cover for each break.
