A new survey of UK homebuyers and holidaymakers reveals that a massive 43 per cent of Brits admit to spending more time researching their holiday than they do a new home. More than half of those quizzed from Scotland (57 per cent) admitted that they spend more time researching a holiday than they do a new home.
The What House? Online Survey found that, in East Anglia, exactly half of consumers (50 per cent) choose to spend more time investigating possible holiday deals than potential homes.
Most of those polled (73 per cent) limited their house buying research to a drive around the local area, while one in three homeowners admitted that they were not completely happy with their property purchase.
Those aged between 18 and 34 in London and the South East chose to do the bulk of their research into holidays and homes online.
Holidays are becoming increasingly important to Brit eager to escape stressful jobs and time pressures for an annual break. As flights and accommodation continue to become more affordable, many people are now choosing to take more than one break a year and an increasing number are turning to the internet and travel guides to research possible destinations.
