An executive communications consultancy has reported that British workers increasingly use hi-tech gadgets to stay in touch with the office when on a break, which could impact on their holiday insurance premiums.Two-thirds of senior executives use portable computers as well as mobile phones and similar devices to keep up to date with their work, research from Aziz showed.
Professor Khalid Aziz, chairman of Aziz, said: "We all need to have time away from the office to recharge our batteries and enjoy our hobbies and families. However, commitments are a corollary of seniority and long hours are a fact of life for many.
"Remote access technology has revolutionised the way we work, allowing us to stay in touch wherever we are."
In August, holiday insurance provider esure reported that by taking more hi-tech gadgets abroad the value of UK holidaymakers hand luggage had trebled.
Travellers were urged to check the details of their annual holiday insurance and consider taking out additional cover if necessary.
