British Airways has topped a recent study to find the best airline for family holidays. Research from Airport Parking and Hotels (APH) looked at the pre-flight and in-flight services and activities provided for families by a number of leading airlines, including Ryanair, easyJet, Virgin Atlantic, First Choice and Thomas Cook.
APH commended British Airways for its family-friendly policies, including allowing families to check-in jointly over the internet before setting off to airports.
In addition, the airline provides Skyfler activity books for children on all of its flights over 170 minutes long, as well as complimentary children's meals, which can also be pre-ordered online.
In comparison, the low-cost airlines Ryanair and easyJet have recently introduced a priority boarding fee of £2 per person, which is only available to the first 60 passengers and, without which, families cannot be guaranteed seats together.
The findings come as paying for family holidays was revealed by Birmingham Midshires as the second most popular way for the 29 per cent of British workers who have received a bonus over the past twelve months to spend their financial "pat on the back".
