Britons already planning on picking up their holiday insurance and heading abroad next summer may be able to take advantage of mew flights from Southampton to Nice.Low-fares airline Flybe has announced that it is now selling tickets for the new route to the French Riviera which will begin in March 2007.
Mike Rutter, chief commercial officer at Flybe, said: "Nice is one of the most popular resorts in Europe so we're delighted to be extending our services there.
"We will continue in our goal to bring more low-cost destinations directly to people's doorsteps."
Other routes from Southampton included in the Flybe 2007 summer schedule include flights to Alicante, Faro, Malaga, Murcia and Palma, with flights from Exeter and Norwich also announced.
Southampton Airport is used by 14 airlines and flies to about 40 different destinations worldwide, with 1.5 million passengers, many travelling with single-trip or annual holiday insurance, flying from the airport each year.
