Accommodation tip for DIY holidaymakers
26 April 2007  Travellers who enjoy the flexibility and freedom offered by a DIY holiday have been advised that they needn't be forced to undertake the cooking and cleaning that can be involved with a rented holiday home.

Holiday Lettings has recommended a range of traditional-style accommodation across Europe to give travellers the option of a unique holiday setting with the comforts of a B&B.

Properties on offer include the 15th century Le Logis de Puygaty in Charente, France, the Torrino del Sole in Abruzzo, Italy and restored Casa da Vida Nova quintinha in Alcantarilha, Portugal.

"There's nothing better than the freedom of travelling from city to city, region to region and finding some bespoke accommodation along the way," the company reports.

It adds that B&B accommodation offers a friendly place to spend the night with the benefit of traditional home-cooked food.

Accommodation provider bandbUnitedStates recently reported that the number of B&Bs in the US had increased exponentially in recent years, with travellers, such as those with holiday insurance, viewing such accommodation as an appealing alternative to standard hotel rooms.
